The Song of Songs 8:11

Psalms 80:8
- You brought us from Egypt as though we were a tender vine; you drove away the pagan nations and transplanted us into your land.
- You cleared the ground for us, and we took root and filled the land.
- The mountains were covered with our shade; the mighty cedars were covered with our branches.
- We spread our branches west to the Mediterranean Sea, our limbs east to the Euphrates River.
- But now, why have you broken down our walls so that all who pass may steal our fruit?
Mark 4:33
- He used many such stories and illustrations to teach the people as much as they were able to understand.
- In fact, in his public teaching he taught only with parables, but afterward when he was alone with his disciples, he explained the meaning to them.
Acts 7:46
- "David found favor with God and asked for the privilege of building a permanent Temple for the God of Jacob.
- But it was Solomon who actually built it.
Romans 9:4
- They are the people of Israel, chosen to be God's special children. God revealed his glory to them. He made covenants with them and gave his law to them. They have the privilege of worshiping him and receiving his wonderful promises.
- Their ancestors were great people of God, and Christ himself was a Jew as far as his human nature is concerned. And he is God, who rules over everything and is worthy of eternal praise! Amen.
Romans 11:17
- But some of these branches from Abraham's tree, some of the Jews, have been broken off. And you Gentiles, who were branches from a wild olive tree, were grafted in. So now you also receive the blessing God has promised Abraham and his children, sharing in God's rich nourishment of his special olive tree.
- But you must be careful not to brag about being grafted in to replace the branches that were broken off. Remember, you are just a branch, not the root.
- "Well," you may say, "those branches were broken off to make room for me."
- Yes, but remember--those branches, the Jews, were broken off because they didn't believe God, and you are there because you do believe. Don't think highly of yourself, but fear what could happen.
- For if God did not spare the branches he put there in the first place, he won't spare you either.
Acts 7:38
- Moses was with the assembly of God's people in the wilderness. He was the mediator between the people of Israel and the angel who gave him life-giving words on Mount Sinai to pass on to us.
Romans 3:1
- Then what's the advantage of being a Jew? Is there any value in the Jewish ceremony of circumcision?
- Yes, being a Jew has many advantages. First of all, the Jews were entrusted with the whole revelation of God.

- For John the Baptist came and showed you the way to life, and you didn't believe him, while tax collectors and prostitutes did. And even when you saw this happening, you refused to turn from your sins and believe him.
Ezekiel 20:49

Matthew 13:10

- Then he explained to them, "You have been permitted to understand the secrets of the Kingdom of Heaven, but others have not.
- To those who are open to my teaching, more understanding will be given, and they will have an abundance of knowledge. But to those who are not listening, even what they have will be taken away from them.
- That is why I tell these stories, because people see what I do, but they don't really see. They hear what I say, but they don't really hear, and they don't understand.
- This fulfills the prophecy of Isaiah, which says: 'You will hear my words, but you will not understand; you will see what I do, but you will not perceive its meaning.
Mark 4:11
- He replied, "You are permitted to understand the secret about the Kingdom of God. But I am using these stories to conceal everything about it from outsiders,
- so that the Scriptures might be fulfilled: 'They see what I do, but they don't perceive its meaning. They hear my words, but they don't understand. So they will not turn from their sins and be forgiven.'
- "But if you can't understand this story, how will you understand all the others I am going to tell?
Luke 13:6
- Then Jesus used this illustration: "A man planted a fig tree in his garden and came again and again to see if there was any fruit on it, but he was always disappointed.
- Finally, he said to his gardener, 'I've waited three years, and there hasn't been a single fig! Cut it down. It's taking up space we can use for something else.'
- "The gardener answered, 'Give it one more chance. Leave it another year, and I'll give it special attention and plenty of fertilizer.
- If we get figs next year, fine. If not, you can cut it down.'"
Psalms 78:68
- He chose instead the tribe of Judah, Mount Zion, which he loved.
- There he built his towering sanctuary, as solid and enduring as the earth itself.
Luke 20:9

- At grape-picking time, he sent one of his servants to collect his share of the crop. But the farmers attacked the servant, beat him up, and sent him back empty-handed.
- So the owner sent another servant, but the same thing happened; he was beaten up and treated shamefully, and he went away empty-handed.
- A third man was sent and the same thing happened. He, too, was wounded and chased away.
- "'What will I do?' the owner asked himself. 'I know! I'll send my cherished son. Surely they will respect him.'
Luke 8:10
