34: "The coming of the Son of Man can be compared with that of a man who left home to go on a trip. He gave each of his employees instructions about the work they were to do, and he told the gatekeeper to watch for his return.
Matthew 25:14
- "Again, the Kingdom of Heaven can be illustrated by the story of a man going on a trip. He called together his servants and gave them money to invest for him while he was gone.
- He gave five bags of gold to one, two bags of gold to another, and one bag of gold to the last--dividing it in proportion to their abilities--and then left on his trip.
- The servant who received the five bags of gold began immediately to invest the money and soon doubled it.

- My job was to plant the seed in your hearts, and Apollos watered it, but it was God, not we, who made it grow.
- The ones who do the planting or watering aren't important, but God is important because he is the one who makes the seed grow.
- The one who plants and the one who waters work as a team with the same purpose. Yet they will be rewarded individually, according to their own hard work.
- We work together as partners who belong to God. You are God's field, God's building--not ours.
Romans 12:4
- Just as our bodies have many parts and each part has a special function,
- so it is with Christ's body. We are all parts of his one body, and each of us has different work to do. And since we are all one body in Christ, we belong to each other, and each of us needs all the others.
- God has given each of us the ability to do certain things well. So if God has given you the ability to prophesy, speak out when you have faith that God is speaking through you.
- If your gift is that of serving others, serve them well. If you are a teacher, do a good job of teaching.
- If your gift is to encourage others, do it! If you have money, share it generously. If God has given you leadership ability, take the responsibility seriously. And if you have a gift for showing kindness to others, do it gladly.
