Matthew 3:14
14: But John didn't want to baptize him. "I am the one who needs to be baptized by you," he said, "so why are you coming to me?"
John 3:3
- Jesus replied, "I assure you, unless you are born again, you can never see the Kingdom of God."
- "What do you mean?" exclaimed Nicodemus. "How can an old man go back into his mother's womb and be born again?"
- Jesus replied, "The truth is, no one can enter the Kingdom of God without being born of water and the Spirit.
- Humans can reproduce only human life, but the Holy Spirit gives new life from heaven.
- So don't be surprised at my statement that you must be born again.
Acts 1:5

- For God sent Jesus to take the punishment for our sins and to satisfy God's anger against us. We are made right with God when we believe that Jesus shed his blood, sacrificing his life for us. God was being entirely fair and just when he did not punish those who sinned in former times.
