Romans 3:25
25: For God sent Jesus to take the punishment for our sins and to satisfy God's anger against us. We are made right with God when we believe that Jesus shed his blood, sacrificing his life for us. God was being entirely fair and just when he did not punish those who sinned in former times.
1 Peter 1:18
- For you know that God paid a ransom to save you from the empty life you inherited from your ancestors. And the ransom he paid was not mere gold or silver.
- He paid for you with the precious lifeblood of Christ, the sinless, spotless Lamb of God.
- God chose him for this purpose long before the world began, but now in these final days, he was sent to the earth for all to see. And he did this for you.
Romans 3:23
- For all have sinned; all fall short of God's glorious standard.
- Yet now God in his gracious kindness declares us not guilty. He has done this through Christ Jesus, who has freed us by taking away our sins.
1 John 4:10
- This is real love. It is not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins.

- He is the sacrifice for our sins. He takes away not only our sins but the sins of all the world.
Hebrews 9:14
- Just think how much more the blood of Christ will purify our hearts from deeds that lead to death so that we can worship the living God. For by the power of the eternal Spirit, Christ offered himself to God as a perfect sacrifice for our sins.
- That is why he is the one who mediates the new covenant between God and people, so that all who are invited can receive the eternal inheritance God has promised them. For Christ died to set them free from the penalty of the sins they had committed under that first covenant.
- Now when someone dies and leaves a will, no one gets anything until it is proved that the person who wrote the will is dead.
- The will goes into effect only after the death of the person who wrote it. While the person is still alive, no one can use the will to get any of the things promised to them.
- That is why blood was required under the first covenant as a proof of death.
Acts 17:30
- God overlooked people's former ignorance about these things, but now he commands everyone everywhere to turn away from idols and turn to him.
