Galatians 3:24 Cross References

Galatians 2:16
- And yet we Jewish Christians know that we become right with God, not by doing what the law commands, but by faith in Jesus Christ. So we have believed in Christ Jesus, that we might be accepted by God because of our faith in Christ--and not because we have obeyed the law. For no one will ever be saved by obeying the law."
Romans 7:24
- Oh, what a miserable person I am! Who will free me from this life that is dominated by sin?

Hebrews 10:1
- The old system in the law of Moses was only a shadow of the things to come, not the reality of the good things Christ has done for us. The sacrifices under the old system were repeated again and again, year after year, but they were never able to provide perfect cleansing for those who came to worship.
- If they could have provided perfect cleansing, the sacrifices would have stopped, for the worshipers would have been purified once for all time, and their feelings of guilt would have disappeared.
- But just the opposite happened. Those yearly sacrifices reminded them of their sins year after year.
- For it is not possible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins.
- That is why Christ, when he came into the world, said, "You did not want animal sacrifices and grain offerings. But you have given me a body so that I may obey you.
Galatians 2:19
- For when I tried to keep the law, I realized I could never earn God's approval. So I died to the law so that I might live for God. I have been crucified with Christ.
Romans 7:7
- Well then, am I suggesting that the law of God is evil? Of course not! The law is not sinful, but it was the law that showed me my sin. I would never have known that coveting is wrong if the law had not said, "Do not covet."
- But sin took advantage of this law and aroused all kinds of forbidden desires within me! If there were no law, sin would not have that power.
- I felt fine when I did not understand what the law demanded. But when I learned the truth, I realized I had broken the law and was a sinner, doomed to die.

Hebrews 9:8
- By these regulations the Holy Spirit revealed that the Most Holy Place was not open to the people as long as the first room and the entire system it represents were still in use.
- This is an illustration pointing to the present time. For the gifts and sacrifices that the priests offer are not able to cleanse the consciences of the people who bring them.
- For that old system deals only with food and drink and ritual washing--external regulations that are in effect only until their limitations can be corrected.
- So Christ has now become the High Priest over all the good things that have come. He has entered that great, perfect sanctuary in heaven, not made by human hands and not part of this created world.
- Once for all time he took blood into that Most Holy Place, but not the blood of goats and calves. He took his own blood, and with it he secured our salvation forever.
Galatians 3:25
- But now that faith in Christ has come, we no longer need the law as our guardian.
Romans 3:20
- For no one can ever be made right in God's sight by doing what his law commands. For the more we know God's law, the clearer it becomes that we aren't obeying it.
- But now God has shown us a different way of being right in his sight--not by obeying the law but by the way promised in the Scriptures long ago.
- We are made right in God's sight when we trust in Jesus Christ to take away our sins. And we all can be saved in this same way, no matter who we are or what we have done.
