  2. So Pilate, the governor, went out to them and asked, "What is your charge against this man?"
  3. "We wouldn't have handed him over to you if he weren't a criminal!" they retorted.
  4. "Then take him away and judge him by your own laws," Pilate told them. "Only the Romans are permitted to execute someone," the Jewish leaders replied.
  5. This fulfilled Jesus' prediction about the way he would die.

Luke 23:11

Acts 3:13

  1. For it is the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, the God of Jacob, the God of all our ancestors who has brought glory to his servant Jesus by doing this. This is the same Jesus whom you handed over and rejected before Pilate, despite Pilate's decision to release him.
  2. You rejected this holy, righteous one and instead demanded the release of a murderer.
  3. You killed the author of life, but God raised him to life. And we are witnesses of this fact!
  4. "The name of Jesus has healed this man--and you know how lame he was before. Faith in Jesus' name has caused this healing before your very eyes.
