Romans 9:18
18: So you see, God shows mercy to some just because he wants to, and he chooses to make some people refuse to listen.
Romans 9:15
- For God said to Moses, "I will show mercy to anyone I choose, and I will show compassion to anyone I choose."
- So receiving God's promise is not up to us. We can't get it by choosing it or working hard for it. God will show mercy to anyone he chooses.
Exodus 4:21
- Then the LORD reminded him, "When you arrive back in Egypt, go to Pharaoh and perform the miracles I have empowered you to do. But I will make him stubborn so he will not let the people go.
