Romans 8:5
5: Those who are dominated by the sinful nature think about sinful things, but those who are controlled by the Holy Spirit think about things that please the Spirit.
Galatians 5:19
- When you follow the desires of your sinful nature, your lives will produce these evil results: sexual immorality, impure thoughts, eagerness for lustful pleasure,
- idolatry, participation in demonic activities, hostility, quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, divisions, the feeling that everyone is wrong except those in your own little group,
- envy, drunkenness, wild parties, and other kinds of sin. Let me tell you again, as I have before, that anyone living that sort of life will not inherit the Kingdom of God.
- But when the Holy Spirit controls our lives, he will produce this kind of fruit in us: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
- gentleness, and self-control. Here there is no conflict with the law.
John 3:6
- Humans can reproduce only human life, but the Holy Spirit gives new life from heaven.
1 Corinthians 2:14
- But people who aren't Christians can't understand these truths from God's Spirit. It all sounds foolish to them because only those who have the Spirit can understand what the Spirit means.

- Since you have been raised to new life with Christ, set your sights on the realities of heaven, where Christ sits at God's right hand in the place of honor and power.

Romans 8:6
- If your sinful nature controls your mind, there is death. But if the Holy Spirit controls your mind, there is life and peace.
- For the sinful nature is always hostile to God. It never did obey God's laws, and it never will.
Romans 8:12
- So, dear brothers and sisters, you have no obligation whatsoever to do what your sinful nature urges you to do.
- For if you keep on following it, you will perish. But if through the power of the Holy Spirit you turn from it and its evil deeds, you will live.
- For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God.
2 Peter 2:10
- He is especially hard on those who follow their own evil, lustful desires and who despise authority. These people are proud and arrogant, daring even to scoff at the glorious ones without so much as trembling.
Romans 8:9
- But you are not controlled by your sinful nature. You are controlled by the Spirit if you have the Spirit of God living in you. (And remember that those who do not have the Spirit of Christ living in them are not Christians at all.)
