14: For I have a great sense of obligation to people in our culture and to people in other cultures, to the educated and uneducated alike.
Colossians 3:11

1 Corinthians 9:16

- If I were doing this of my own free will, then I would deserve payment. But God has chosen me and given me this sacred trust, and I have no choice.
- What then is my pay? It is the satisfaction I get from preaching the Good News without expense to anyone, never demanding my rights as a preacher.
- This means I am not bound to obey people just because they pay me, yet I have become a servant of everyone so that I can bring them to Christ.
- When I am with the Jews, I become one of them so that I can bring them to Christ. When I am with those who follow the Jewish laws, I do the same, even though I am not subject to the law, so that I can bring them to Christ.
Acts 9:15

- Since God in his wisdom saw to it that the world would never find him through human wisdom, he has used our foolish preaching to save all who believe.
- God's way seems foolish to the Jews because they want a sign from heaven to prove it is true. And it is foolish to the Greeks because they believe only what agrees with their own wisdom.
1 Corinthians 14:11
