Matthew 1:1
1: This is a record of the ancestors of Jesus the Messiah, a descendant of King David and of Abraham:
Genesis 22:18
- and through your descendants, all the nations of the earth will be blessed--all because you have obeyed me."
Galatians 3:16
- God gave the promise to Abraham and his child. And notice that it doesn't say the promise was to his children, as if it meant many descendants. But the promise was to his child--and that, of course, means Christ.
Romans 1:3
