Galatians 3:2
2: Let me ask you this one question: Did you receive the Holy Spirit by keeping the law? Of course not, for the Holy Spirit came upon you only after you believed the message you heard about Christ.
Romans 10:16
- But not everyone welcomes the Good News, for Isaiah the prophet said, "Lord, who has believed our message?"
- Yet faith comes from listening to this message of good news--the Good News about Christ.
Galatians 3:14
- Through the work of Christ Jesus, God has blessed the Gentiles with the same blessing he promised to Abraham, and we Christians receive the promised Holy Spirit through faith.

- As soon as they arrived, they prayed for these new Christians to receive the Holy Spirit.
Galatians 3:5
- I ask you again, does God give you the Holy Spirit and work miracles among you because you obey the law of Moses? Of course not! It is because you believe the message you heard about Christ.
Hebrews 6:4
- For it is impossible to restore to repentance those who were once enlightened--those who have experienced the good things of heaven and shared in the Holy Spirit,

Ephesians 1:13
- And now you also have heard the truth, the Good News that God saves you. And when you believed in Christ, he identified you as his own by giving you the Holy Spirit, whom he promised long ago.
- The Spirit is God's guarantee that he will give us everything he promised and that he has purchased us to be his own people. This is just one more reason for us to praise our glorious God.
Romans 1:17
- This Good News tells us how God makes us right in his sight. This is accomplished from start to finish by faith. As the Scriptures say, "It is through faith that a righteous person has life."
1 Peter 1:12
- They were told that these things would not happen during their lifetime, but many years later, during yours. And now this Good News has been announced by those who preached to you in the power of the Holy Spirit sent from heaven. It is all so wonderful that even the angels are eagerly watching these things happen.
1 Corinthians 12:7
- A spiritual gift is given to each of us as a means of helping the entire church.
- To one person the Spirit gives the ability to give wise advice; to another he gives the gift of special knowledge.
- The Spirit gives special faith to another, and to someone else he gives the power to heal the sick.
- He gives one person the power to perform miracles, and to another the ability to prophesy. He gives someone else the ability to know whether it is really the Spirit of God or another spirit that is speaking. Still another person is given the ability to speak in unknown languages, and another is given the ability to interpret what is being said.
- It is the one and only Holy Spirit who distributes these gifts. He alone decides which gift each person should have.
2 Corinthians 11:4
- You seem to believe whatever anyone tells you, even if they preach about a different Jesus than the one we preach, or a different Spirit than the one you received, or a different kind of gospel than the one you believed.
