Mark 15:1

1: Very early in the morning the leading priests, other leaders, and teachers of religious law--the entire high council--met to discuss their next step. They bound Jesus and took him to Pilate, the Roman governor.

Matthew 27:1

John 18:28

  1. Jesus' trial before Caiaphas ended in the early hours of the morning. Then he was taken to the headquarters of the Roman governor. His accusers didn't go in themselves because it would defile them, and they wouldn't be allowed to celebrate the Passover feast.
  2. So Pilate, the governor, went out to them and asked, "What is your charge against this man?"
  3. "We wouldn't have handed him over to you if he weren't a criminal!" they retorted.
  4. "Then take him away and judge him by your own laws," Pilate told them. "Only the Romans are permitted to execute someone," the Jewish leaders replied.
  5. This fulfilled Jesus' prediction about the way he would die.

Acts 3:13

  1. For it is the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, the God of Jacob, the God of all our ancestors who has brought glory to his servant Jesus by doing this. This is the same Jesus whom you handed over and rejected before Pilate, despite Pilate's decision to release him.
