Luke 14:17

17: When all was ready, he sent his servant around to notify the guests that it was time for them to come.

Many guests were invited, and when the banquet was ready, he sent his servants to notify everyone that it was time to come. But they all refused!
So he sent other servants to tell them, 'The feast has been prepared, and choice meats have been cooked. Everything is ready. Hurry!'

Jesus called his twelve disciples to him and gave them authority to cast out evil spirits and to heal every kind of disease and illness.
Here are the names of the twelve apostles: first Simon (also called Peter), then Andrew (Peter's brother), James (son of Zebedee), John (James's brother),
Philip, Bartholomew, Thomas, Matthew (the tax collector), James (son of Alphaeus), Thaddaeus,
Simon (the Zealot ), Judas Iscariot (who later betrayed him).

Wisdom has built her spacious house with seven pillars.
She has prepared a great banquet, mixed the wines, and set the table.
She has sent her servants to invite everyone to come. She calls out from the heights overlooking the city.
"Come home with me," she urges the simple. To those without good judgment, she says,
"Come, eat my food, and drink the wine I have mixed.

The Lord now chose seventy-two other disciples and sent them on ahead in pairs to all the towns and villages he planned to visit.
These were his instructions to them: "The harvest is so great, but the workers are so few. Pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest, and ask him to send out more workers for his fields.
Go now, and remember that I am sending you out as lambs among wolves.
Don't take along any money, or a traveler's bag, or even an extra pair of sandals. And don't stop to greet anyone on the road.
"Whenever you enter a home, give it your blessing.

Peter replied, "Each of you must turn from your sins and turn to God, and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. Then you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
This promise is to you and to your children, and even to the Gentiles--all who have been called by the Lord our God."

"Starting with Samuel, every prophet spoke about what is happening today.
You are the children of those prophets, and you are included in the covenant God promised to your ancestors. For God said to Abraham, 'Through your descendants all the families on earth will be blessed.'
When God raised up his servant, he sent him first to you people of Israel, to bless you by turning each of you back from your sinful ways."

Isaiah had spoken of John when he said, "He is a voice shouting in the wilderness: 'Prepare a pathway for the Lord's coming! Make a straight road for him!
Fill in the valleys, and level the mountains and hills! Straighten the curves, and smooth out the rough places!
And then all people will see the salvation sent from God.'"

On the last day, the climax of the festival, Jesus stood and shouted to the crowds, "If you are thirsty, come to me!

All this newness of life is from God, who brought us back to himself through what Christ did. And God has given us the task of reconciling people to him.
For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people's sins against them. This is the wonderful message he has given us to tell others.
We are Christ's ambassadors, and God is using us to speak to you. We urge you, as though Christ himself were here pleading with you, "Be reconciled to God!"
For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ.
As God's partners, we beg you not to reject this marvelous message of God's great kindness.

"My Father has given me authority over everything. No one really knows the Son except the Father, and no one really knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him."
Then Jesus said, "Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle, and you will find rest for your souls.

"Brothers--you sons of Abraham, and also all of you devout Gentiles who fear the God of Israel--this salvation is for us!

One day Jesus called together his twelve apostles and gave them power and authority to cast out demons and to heal all diseases.
Then he sent them out to tell everyone about the coming of the Kingdom of God and to heal the sick.
"Don't even take along a walking stick," he instructed them, "nor a traveler's bag, nor food, nor money. Not even an extra coat.
When you enter each village, be a guest in only one home.
If the people of the village won't receive your message when you enter it, shake off its dust from your feet as you leave. It is a sign that you have abandoned that village to its fate."

"Brothers, listen! In this man Jesus there is forgiveness for your sins.
Everyone who believes in him is freed from all guilt and declared right with God--something the Jewish law could never do.

In those days John the Baptist began preaching in the Judean wilderness. His message was,
"Turn from your sins and turn to God, because the Kingdom of Heaven is near. "
Isaiah had spoken of John when he said, "He is a voice shouting in the wilderness: 'Prepare a pathway for the Lord's coming! Make a straight road for him!'"
John's clothes were woven from camel hair, and he wore a leather belt; his food was locusts and wild honey.
People from Jerusalem and from every section of Judea and from all over the Jordan Valley went out to the wilderness to hear him preach.
