2: These were his instructions to them: "The harvest is so great, but the workers are so few. Pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest, and ask him to send out more workers for his fields.
Matthew 9:36

- The one who plants and the one who waters work as a team with the same purpose. Yet they will be rewarded individually, according to their own hard work.
- We work together as partners who belong to God. You are God's field, God's building--not ours.
2 Timothy 4:5
- But you should keep a clear mind in every situation. Don't be afraid of suffering for the Lord. Work at bringing others to Christ. Complete the ministry God has given you.

- Follow the Lord's rules for doing his work, just as an athlete either follows the rules or is disqualified and wins no prize.
- Hardworking farmers are the first to enjoy the fruit of their labor.
1 Timothy 5:17
- Elders who do their work well should be paid well, especially those who work hard at both preaching and teaching.
- For the Scripture says, "Do not keep an ox from eating as it treads out the grain." And in another place, "Those who work deserve their pay!"
