Hebrews 7:27

27: He does not need to offer sacrifices every day like the other high priests. They did this for their own sins first and then for the sins of the people. But Jesus did this once for all when he sacrificed himself on the cross.

Hebrews 9:12

  1. Once for all time he took blood into that Most Holy Place, but not the blood of goats and calves. He took his own blood, and with it he secured our salvation forever.

Exodus 29:36

  1. Each day you must sacrifice a young bull as an offering for the atonement of sin. Afterward make an offering to cleanse the altar. Purify the altar by making atonement for it; make it holy by anointing it with oil.

  2. So Aaron went to the altar and slaughtered the calf as a sin offering for himself.
  3. His sons brought him the blood, and he dipped his finger into it and put it on the horns of the altar. He poured out the rest of the blood at the base of the altar.
  4. Then he burned on the altar the fat, the kidneys, and the lobe of the liver from the sin offering, just as the LORD had commanded Moses.
  5. The meat and the hide, however, he burned outside the camp.

Leviticus 4:3

  1. "If the high priest sins, bringing guilt upon the entire community, he must bring to the LORD a young bull with no physical defects.
  2. He must present the bull to the LORD at the entrance of the Tabernacle, lay his hand on the bull's head, and slaughter it there in the LORD's presence.
  3. The priest on duty will then take some of the animal's blood into the Tabernacle,
  4. dip his finger into the blood, and sprinkle it seven times before the LORD in front of the inner curtain of the Most Holy Place.
  5. The priest will put some of the blood on the horns of the incense altar that stands in the LORD's presence in the Tabernacle. The rest of the bull's blood must be poured out at the base of the altar of burnt offerings at the entrance of the Tabernacle.

Numbers 28:2

  5. This is the regular burnt offering ordained at Mount Sinai, an offering made by fire, very pleasing to the LORD.

Hebrews 9:7

  1. But only the high priest goes into the Most Holy Place, and only once a year, and always with blood, which he offers to God to cover his own sins and the sins the people have committed in ignorance.

  1. "Aaron will present the bull as a sin offering, to make atonement for himself and his family.
