17: So it is right for me to be enthusiastic about all Christ Jesus has done through me in my service to God.
2 Corinthians 2:14
- But thanks be to God, who made us his captives and leads us along in Christ's triumphal procession. Now wherever we go he uses us to tell others about the Lord and to spread the Good News like a sweet perfume.
- Our lives are a fragrance presented by Christ to God. But this fragrance is perceived differently by those being saved and by those perishing.
- To those who are perishing we are a fearful smell of death and doom. But to those who are being saved we are a life-giving perfume. And who is adequate for such a task as this?

- It is not that we think we can do anything of lasting value by ourselves. Our only power and success come from God.
- He is the one who has enabled us to represent his new covenant. This is a covenant, not of written laws, but of the Spirit. The old way ends in death; in the new way, the Holy Spirit gives life.
Romans 4:2
- Was it because of his good deeds that God accepted him? If so, he would have had something to boast about. But from God's point of view Abraham had no basis at all for pride.
2 Corinthians 11:16
- Once again, don't think that I have lost my wits to talk like this. But even if you do, listen to me, as you would to a foolish person, while I also boast a little.
- Such bragging is not something the Lord wants, but I am acting like a fool.
- And since others boast about their human achievements, I will, too.

- You put up with it when they make you their slaves, take everything you have, take advantage of you, put on airs, and slap you in the face.
