Psalms 79:1
1: O God, pagan nations have conquered your land, your special possession. They have defiled your holy Temple and made Jerusalem a heap of ruins.
Lamentations 1:10
- The enemy has plundered her completely, taking everything precious that she owns. She has seen foreigners violate her sacred Temple, the place the LORD had forbidden them to enter.
Jeremiah 26:18

- Manasseh also murdered many innocent people until Jerusalem was filled from one end to the other with innocent blood. This was in addition to the sin that he caused the people of Judah to commit, leading them to do evil in the LORD's sight.

Psalms 74:7
- They set the sanctuary on fire, burning it to the ground. They utterly defiled the place that bears your holy name.
- Then they thought, "Let's destroy everything!" So they burned down all the places where God was worshiped.
Jeremiah 52:13
