10: They did not keep God's covenant, and they refused to live by his law.
Deuteronomy 31:20
- For I will bring them into the land I swore to give their ancestors--a land flowing with milk and honey. There they will become prosperous; they will eat all the food they want and become well nourished. Then they will begin to worship other gods; they will despise me and break my covenant.
Deuteronomy 31:16

- You warned them to return to your law, but they became proud and obstinate and disobeyed your commands. They did not follow your regulations, by which people will find life if only they obey. They stubbornly turned their backs on you and refused to listen.
2 Kings 17:14
- But the Israelites would not listen. They were as stubborn as their ancestors and refused to believe in the LORD their God.
- They rejected his laws and the covenant he had made with their ancestors, and they despised all his warnings. They worshiped worthless idols and became worthless themselves. They followed the example of the nations around them, disobeying the LORD's command not to imitate them.
