Psalms 34:19

19: The righteous face many troubles, but the LORD rescues them from each and every one.

The LORD hears his people when they call to him for help. He rescues them from all their troubles.

Dear friends, don't be surprised at the fiery trials you are going through, as if something strange were happening to you.
Instead, be very glad--because these trials will make you partners with Christ in his suffering, and afterward you will have the wonderful joy of sharing his glory when it is displayed to all the world.

For our present troubles are quite small and won't last very long. Yet they produce for us an immeasurably great glory that will last forever!

I cried out to the LORD in my suffering, and he heard me. He set me free from all my fears.

You know how much persecution and suffering I have endured. You know all about how I was persecuted in Antioch, Iconium, and Lystra--but the Lord delivered me from all of it.
Yes, and everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.

I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world."

They may trip seven times, but each time they will rise again. But one calamity is enough to lay the wicked low.

You have allowed me to suffer much hardship, but you will restore me to life again and lift me up from the depths of the earth.

But this precious treasure--this light and power that now shine within us--is held in perishable containers, that is, in our weak bodies. So everyone can see that our glorious power is from God and is not our own.
We are pressed on every side by troubles, but we are not crushed and broken. We are perplexed, but we don't give up and quit.
We are hunted down, but God never abandons us. We get knocked down, but we get up again and keep going.
Through suffering, these bodies of ours constantly share in the death of Jesus so that the life of Jesus may also be seen in our bodies.
Yes, we live under constant danger of death because we serve Jesus, so that the life of Jesus will be obvious in our dying bodies.

By faith these people overthrew kingdoms, ruled with justice, and received what God had promised them. They shut the mouths of lions,
quenched the flames of fire, and escaped death by the edge of the sword. Their weakness was turned to strength. They became strong in battle and put whole armies to flight.
Women received their loved ones back again from death. But others trusted God and were tortured, preferring to die rather than turn from God and be free. They placed their hope in the resurrection to a better life.
Some were mocked, and their backs were cut open with whips. Others were chained in dungeons.
Some died by stoning, and some were sawed in half; others were killed with the sword. Some went about in skins of sheep and goats, hungry and oppressed and mistreated.

and to keep you from becoming disturbed by the troubles you were going through. But, of course, you know that such troubles are going to happen to us Christians.
Even while we were with you, we warned you that troubles would soon come--and they did, as you well know.

where they strengthened the believers. They encouraged them to continue in the faith, reminding them that they must enter into the Kingdom of God through many tribulations.

For examples of patience in suffering, dear brothers and sisters, look at the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord.
We give great honor to those who endure under suffering. Job is an example of a man who endured patiently. From his experience we see how the Lord's plan finally ended in good, for he is full of tenderness and mercy.

And I said to him, "Sir, you are the one who knows." Then he said to me, "These are the ones coming out of the great tribulation. They washed their robes in the blood of the Lamb and made them white.
That is why they are standing in front of the throne of God, serving him day and night in his Temple. And he who sits on the throne will live among them and shelter them.
They will never again be hungry or thirsty, and they will be fully protected from the scorching noontime heat.
For the Lamb who stands in front of the throne will be their Shepherd. He will lead them to the springs of life-giving water. And God will wipe away all their tears."

So the LORD blessed Job in the second half of his life even more than in the beginning. For now he had fourteen thousand sheep, six thousand camels, one thousand teams of oxen, and one thousand female donkeys.

They say they serve Christ? I know I sound like a madman, but I have served him far more! I have worked harder, been put in jail more often, been whipped times without number, and faced death again and again.
Five different times the Jews gave me thirty-nine lashes.
Three times I was beaten with rods. Once I was stoned. Three times I was shipwrecked. Once I spent a whole night and a day adrift at sea.
I have traveled many weary miles. I have faced danger from flooded rivers and from robbers. I have faced danger from my own people, the Jews, as well as from the Gentiles. I have faced danger in the cities, in the deserts, and on the stormy seas. And I have faced danger from men who claim to be Christians but are not.
I have lived with weariness and pain and sleepless nights. Often I have been hungry and thirsty and have gone without food. Often I have shivered with cold, without enough clothing to keep me warm.

"And now their sons mock me with their vulgar song! They taunt me!
They despise me and won't come near me, except to spit in my face.
For God has cut the cords of my tent. He has humbled me, so they have thrown off all restraint.
These outcasts oppose me to my face. They send me sprawling; they lay traps in my path.
They block my road and do everything they can to hasten my calamity, knowing full well that I have no one to help me.
