Proverbs 24:21
21: My child, fear the LORD and the king, and don't associate with rebels.
Romans 13:1
- Obey the government, for God is the one who put it there. All governments have been placed in power by God.
- So those who refuse to obey the laws of the land are refusing to obey God, and punishment will follow.
- For the authorities do not frighten people who are doing right, but they frighten those who do wrong. So do what they say, and you will get along well.
- The authorities are sent by God to help you. But if you are doing something wrong, of course you should be afraid, for you will be punished. The authorities are established by God for that very purpose, to punish those who do wrong.
- So you must obey the government for two reasons: to keep from being punished and to keep a clear conscience.
Titus 3:1
- Remind your people to submit to the government and its officers. They should be obedient, always ready to do what is good.
1 Peter 2:13
- For the Lord's sake, accept all authority--the king as head of state,

- Show respect for everyone. Love your Christian brothers and sisters. Fear God. Show respect for the king.
Ecclesiastes 8:2
- Obey the king because you have vowed before God to do this.
- Don't try to avoid doing your duty, and don't take a stand with those who plot evil. For the king will punish those who disobey him.
- The king's command is backed by great power. No one can resist or question it.
- Those who obey him will not be punished. Those who are wise will find a time and a way to do what is right.
