59: Inside, the leading priests and the entire high council were trying to find witnesses who would lie about Jesus, so they could put him to death.
Deuteronomy 19:16
- If a malicious witness comes forward and accuses someone of a crime,
- then both the accuser and accused must appear before the priests and judges who are on duty before the LORD.
- They must be closely questioned, and if the accuser is found to be lying,
