11: In Judah, in Israel, and in Jerusalem there is treachery, for the men of Judah have defiled the LORD's beloved sanctuary by marrying women who worship idols.
2 Corinthians 6:14
- Don't team up with those who are unbelievers. How can goodness be a partner with wickedness? How can light live with darkness?

Ezra 9:1

1 Kings 11:1

- The LORD had clearly instructed his people not to intermarry with those nations, because the women they married would lead them to worship their gods. Yet Solomon insisted on loving them anyway.
- He had seven hundred wives and three hundred concubines. And sure enough, they led his heart away from the LORD.
- In Solomon's old age, they turned his heart to worship their gods instead of trusting only in the LORD his God, as his father, David, had done.
- Solomon worshiped Ashtoreth, the goddess of the Sidonians, and Molech, the detestable god of the Ammonites.
Psalms 106:34
- Israel failed to destroy the nations in the land, as the LORD had told them to.
- Instead, they mingled among the pagans and adopted their evil customs.
- They worshiped their idols, and this led to their downfall.
- They even sacrificed their sons and their daughters to the demons.
- They shed innocent blood, the blood of their sons and daughters. By sacrificing them to the idols of Canaan, they polluted the land with murder.
Jeremiah 7:10
- and then come here and stand before me in my Temple and chant, "We are safe!"--only to go right back to all those evils again?
Judges 3:6
- and they intermarried with them. Israelite sons married their daughters, and Israelite daughters were given in marriage to their sons. And the Israelites worshiped their gods.

- "All these detestable activities are practiced by the people of the land where I am taking you, and the land has become defiled.
- Do not give the land a reason to vomit you out for defiling it, as it will vomit out the people who live there now.
Ezra 9:12
- You told us not to let our daughters marry their sons, and not to let our sons marry their daughters, and not to help those nations in any way. You promised that if we avoided these things, we would become a prosperous nation. You promised that we would enjoy the good produce of the land and leave this prosperity to our children as an inheritance forever.
