7: But it is actually best for you that I go away, because if I don't, the Counselor won't come. If I do go away, he will come because I will send him to you.

- He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth. The world at large cannot receive him, because it isn't looking for him and doesn't recognize him. But you do, because he lives with you now and later will be in you.

- It was a prediction that Jesus' death would be not for Israel only, but for the gathering together of all the children of God scattered around the world.

- The same one who came down is the one who ascended higher than all the heavens, so that his rule might fill the entire universe.
- He is the one who gave these gifts to the church: the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, and the pastors and teachers.
- Their responsibility is to equip God's people to do his work and build up the church, the body of Christ,
