6: I will make it a wild place. I will not prune the vines or hoe the ground. I will let it be overgrown with briers and thorns. I will command the clouds to drop no more rain on it."
Isaiah 7:23
- In that day the lush vineyards, now worth as much as a thousand pieces of silver, will become patches of briers and thorns.
- The entire land will be one vast brier patch, a hunting ground overrun by wildlife.
- No one will go to the fertile hillsides where the gardens once grew, for briers and thorns will cover them. Cattle, sheep, and goats will graze there.
Jeremiah 25:11
- This entire land will become a desolate wasteland. Israel and her neighboring lands will serve the king of Babylon for seventy years.

- Then at last the land will make up for its missed Sabbath years as it lies desolate during your years of exile in the land of your enemies. Then the land will finally rest and enjoy its Sabbaths.
- As the land lies in ruins, it will take the rest you never allowed it to take every seventh year while you lived in it.
