Hebrews 11:5

5: It was by faith that Enoch was taken up to heaven without dying--"suddenly he disappeared because God took him." But before he was taken up, he was approved as pleasing to God.

Genesis 5:21

Hebrews 11:3

  1. By faith we understand that the entire universe was formed at God's command, that what we now see did not come from anything that can be seen.
  2. It was by faith that Abel brought a more acceptable offering to God than Cain did. God accepted Abel's offering to show that he was a righteous man. And although Abel is long dead, he still speaks to us because of his faith.

1 John 3:22

  1. And we will receive whatever we request because we obey him and do the things that please him.

Romans 8:8

  1. That's why those who are still under the control of their sinful nature can never please God.
  2. But you are not controlled by your sinful nature. You are controlled by the Spirit if you have the Spirit of God living in you. (And remember that those who do not have the Spirit of Christ living in them are not Christians at all.)
