1: So Christ has really set us free. Now make sure that you stay free, and don't get tied up again in slavery to the law.

- But we are not like those who turn their backs on God and seal their fate. We have faith that assures our salvation.
Hebrews 9:8
- By these regulations the Holy Spirit revealed that the Most Holy Place was not open to the people as long as the first room and the entire system it represents were still in use.
- This is an illustration pointing to the present time. For the gifts and sacrifices that the priests offer are not able to cleanse the consciences of the people who bring them.
- For that old system deals only with food and drink and ritual washing--external regulations that are in effect only until their limitations can be corrected.
- So Christ has now become the High Priest over all the good things that have come. He has entered that great, perfect sanctuary in heaven, not made by human hands and not part of this created world.
Jude 1:3
- Dearly loved friends, I had been eagerly planning to write to you about the salvation we all share. But now I find that I must write about something else, urging you to defend the truth of the Good News. God gave this unchanging truth once for all time to his holy people.

- They crush you with impossible religious demands and never lift a finger to help ease the burden.

- With all these things in mind, dear brothers and sisters, stand firm and keep a strong grip on everything we taught you both in person and by letter.
Romans 7:3
- So while her husband is alive, she would be committing adultery if she married another man. But if her husband dies, she is free from that law and does not commit adultery when she remarries.
