18: and burn them all on the altar. This is a burnt offering to the LORD, which is very pleasing to him.

I have no complaint about your sacrifices or the burnt offerings you constantly bring to my altar.

Then Abraham looked up and saw a ram caught by its horns in a bush. So he took the ram and sacrificed it as a burnt offering on the altar in place of his son.

Fire blazed forth from the LORD's presence and consumed the burnt offering and the fat on the altar. When the people saw all this, they shouted with joy and fell face down on the ground.
