Zechariah 11:13

13: And the LORD said to me, "Throw it to the potters "--this magnificent sum at which they valued me! So I took the thirty coins and threw them to the potters in the Temple of the LORD.

Matthew 27:3

  1. When Judas, who had betrayed him, realized that Jesus had been condemned to die, he was filled with remorse. So he took the thirty pieces of silver back to the leading priests and other leaders.
  2. "I have sinned," he declared, "for I have betrayed an innocent man.What do we care?" they retorted. "That's your problem."
  3. Then Judas threw the money onto the floor of the Temple and went out and hanged himself.
  4. The leading priests picked up the money. "We can't put it in the Temple treasury," they said, "since it's against the law to accept money paid for murder."
  5. After some discussion they finally decided to buy the potter's field, and they made it into a cemetery for foreigners.

Acts 1:18

  1. (Judas bought a field with the money he received for his treachery, and falling there, he burst open, spilling out his intestines.
  2. The news of his death spread rapidly among all the people of Jerusalem, and they gave the place the Aramaic name Akeldama, which means "Field of Blood.")
