11: So in my anger I made a vow: `They will never enter my place of rest.'"

For only we who believe can enter his place of rest. As for those who didn't believe, God said, "In my anger I made a vow: 'They will never enter my place of rest,'" even though his place of rest has been ready since he made the world.

They will never even see the land I swore to give their ancestors. None of those who have treated me with contempt will enter it.

And to whom was God speaking when he vowed that they would never enter his place of rest? He was speaking to those who disobeyed him.

Then Jesus said, "Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle, and you will find rest for your souls.

"When the LORD heard your complaining, he became very angry. So he solemnly swore,
`Not one of you from this entire wicked generation will live to see the good land I swore to give your ancestors,

So now the LORD says, "Stop right where you are! Look for the old, godly way, and walk in it. Travel its path, and you will find rest for your souls. But you reply, `No, that's not the road we want!'

Now tell them this: `As surely as I live, I will do to you the very things I heard you say. I, the LORD, have spoken!
You will all die here in this wilderness! Because you complained against me, none of you who are twenty years old or older and were counted in the census
will enter the land I swore to give you. The only exceptions will be Caleb son of Jephunneh and Joshua son of Nun.

And I heard a voice from heaven saying, "Write this down: Blessed are those who die in the Lord from now on. Yes, says the Spirit, they are blessed indeed, for they will rest from all their toils and trials; for their good deeds follow them!"

On the seventh day, having finished his task, God rested from all his work.
And God blessed the seventh day and declared it holy, because it was the day when he rested from his work of creation.

"Don't point your finger at someone else and try to pass the blame! Look, you priests, my complaint is with you!
As a sentence for your crimes, you will stumble in broad daylight, just as you might at night, and so will your false prophets. And I will destroy your mother, Israel.
My people are being destroyed because they don't know me. It is all your fault, you priests, for you yourselves refuse to know me. Now I refuse to recognize you as my priests. Since you have forgotten the laws of your God, I will forget to bless your children.
The more priests there are, the more they sin against me. They have exchanged the glory of God for the disgrace of idols.
"The priests get fed when the people sin and bring their sin offerings to them. So the priests are glad when the people sin!
