Psalms 89:3

3: The LORD said, "I have made a solemn agreement with David, my chosen servant. I have sworn this oath to him:

The LORD swore to David a promise he will never take back: "I will place one of your descendants on your throne.

And a voice from heaven said, "This is my beloved Son, and I am fully pleased with him."

And I have provided a permanent homeland for my people Israel, a secure place where they will never be disturbed. It will be their own land where wicked nations won't oppress them as they did in the past,
from the time I appointed judges to rule my people. And I will keep you safe from all your enemies. "`And now the LORD declares that he will build a house for you--a dynasty of kings!
For when you die, I will raise up one of your descendants, and I will make his kingdom strong.
He is the one who will build a house--a temple--for my name. And I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever.
I will be his father, and he will be my son. If he sins, I will use other nations to punish him.

For my people will serve the LORD their God and David their king, whom I will raise up for them.

For he told my father, `From the day I brought my people Israel out of Egypt, I have never chosen a city among the tribes of Israel as the place where a temple should be built to honor my name. But now I have chosen David to be king over my people.'"

"If you can break my covenant with the day and the night so that they do not come on their usual schedule,
only then will my covenant with David, my servant, be broken. Only then will he no longer have a descendant to reign on his throne. The same is true for my covenant with the Levitical priests who minister before me.

And I will set one shepherd over them, even my servant David. He will feed them and be a shepherd to them.
And I, the LORD, will be their God, and my servant David will be a prince among my people. I, the LORD, have spoken!

"Look at my Servant, whom I have chosen. He is my Beloved, and I am very pleased with him. I will put my Spirit upon him, and he will proclaim justice to the nations.
He will not fight or shout; he will not raise his voice in public.
He will not crush those who are weak, or quench the smallest hope, until he brings full justice with his final victory.
And his name will be the hope of all the world."

But he was a prophet, and he knew God had promised with an oath that one of David's own descendants would sit on David's throne as the Messiah.

You have renounced your covenant with him, for you have thrown his crown in the dust.

"Look at my servant, whom I strengthen. He is my chosen one, and I am pleased with him. I have put my Spirit upon him. He will reveal justice to the nations.

Only to Jesus did he say, "The Lord has taken an oath and will not break his vow: 'You are a priest forever.'"

But afterward the people will return to the LORD their God and to David's descendant, their king. They will come trembling in awe to the LORD, and they will receive his good gifts in the last days.

May God deal harshly with me if I don't help David get all that the LORD has promised him!

He will be very great and will be called the Son of the Most High. And the Lord God will give him the throne of his ancestor David.
And he will reign over Israel forever; his Kingdom will never end!"

I will love him and be kind to him forever; my covenant with him will never end.

"It is my family God has chosen! Yes, he has made an everlasting covenant with me. His agreement is eternal, final, sealed. He will constantly look after my safety and success.

You once spoke in a vision to your prophet and said, "I have given help to a warrior. I have selected him from the common people to be king.

"Come to me with your ears wide open. Listen, for the life of your soul is at stake. I am ready to make an everlasting covenant with you. I will give you all the mercies and unfailing love that I promised to David.
