14: The wicked draw their swords and string their bows to kill the poor and the oppressed, to slaughter those who do right.

The wicked are stringing their bows and setting their arrows in the bowstrings. They shoot from the shadows at those who do right.

Peter finally realized what had happened. "It's really true!" he said to himself. "The Lord has sent his angel and saved me from Herod and from what the Jews were hoping to do to me!"

I will send you prophets and wise men and teachers of religious law. You will kill some by crucifixion and whip others in your synagogues, chasing them from city to city.
