Psalms 119:121

121: Don't leave me to the mercy of my enemies, for I have done what is just and right.

The LORD rewarded me for doing right; he compensated me because of my innocence.
For I have kept the ways of the LORD; I have not turned from my God to follow evil.
For all his laws are constantly before me; I have never abandoned his principles.
I am blameless before God; I have kept myself from sin.
The LORD rewarded me for doing right, because of the innocence of my hands in his sight.

So you see, the Lord knows how to rescue godly people from their trials, even while punishing the wicked right up until the day of judgment.

He will send help from heaven to save me, rescuing me from those who are out to get me. My God will send forth his unfailing love and faithfulness.
I am surrounded by fierce lions who greedily devour human prey--whose teeth pierce like spears and arrows, and whose tongues cut like swords.

Look, my father, at what I have in my hand. It is a piece of your robe! I cut it off, but I didn't kill you. This proves that I am not trying to harm you and that I have not sinned against you, even though you have been hunting for me to kill me.
The LORD will decide between us. Perhaps the LORD will punish you for what you are trying to do to me, but I will never harm you.
As that old proverb says, `From evil people come evil deeds.' So you can be sure I will never harm you.
Who is the king of Israel trying to catch anyway? Should he spend his time chasing one who is as worthless as a dead dog or a flea?
May the LORD judge which of us is right and punish the guilty one. He is my advocate, and he will rescue me from your power!"

Some believers from Caesarea accompanied us, and they took us to the home of Mnason, a man originally from Cyprus and one of the early disciples.

We can say with confidence and a clear conscience that we have been honest and sincere in all our dealings. We have depended on God's grace, not on our own earthly wisdom. That is how we have acted toward everyone, and especially toward you.

But the LORD will not let the wicked succeed or let the godly be condemned when they are brought before the judge.

Please forgive me if I have offended in any way. The LORD will surely reward you with a lasting dynasty, for you are fighting the LORD's battles. And you have not done wrong throughout your entire life.

But Paul replied, "No! This is the official Roman court, so I ought to be tried right here. You know very well I am not guilty.
If I have done something worthy of death, I don't refuse to die. But if I am innocent, neither you nor anyone else has a right to turn me over to these men to kill me. I appeal to Caesar!"

O LORD my God, if I have done wrong or am guilty of injustice,
if I have betrayed a friend or plundered my enemy without cause,
then let my enemies capture me. Let them trample me into the ground. Let my honor be left in the dust.
