16: For he refused all kindness to others; he persecuted the poor and needy, and he hounded the brokenhearted to death.

The LORD is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those who are crushed in spirit.

Then David said to Abishai and the other officers, "My own son is trying to kill me. Shouldn't this relative of Saul have even more reason to do so? Leave him alone and let him curse, for the LORD has told him to do it.
And perhaps the LORD will see that I am being wronged and will bless me because of these curses."

But instead, they give me poison for food; they offer me sour wine to satisfy my thirst.
Let the bountiful table set before them become a snare, and let their security become a trap.
Let their eyes go blind so they cannot see, and let their bodies grow weaker and weaker.
Pour out your fury on them; consume them with your burning anger.

Shouldn't you have mercy on your fellow servant, just as I had mercy on you?'

The wicked draw their swords and string their bows to kill the poor and the oppressed, to slaughter those who do right.
