10: Those who lead the upright into sin will fall into their own trap, but the honest will inherit good things.

If you set a trap for others, you will get caught in it yourself. If you roll a boulder down on others, it will roll back and crush you.

Once I was young, and now I am old. Yet I have never seen the godly forsaken, nor seen their children begging for bread.
The godly always give generous loans to others, and their children are a blessing.

and he will give you all you need from day to day if you live for him and make the Kingdom of God your primary concern.

Even that question wouldn't have come up except for some so-called Christians there--false ones, really--who came to spy on us and see our freedom in Christ Jesus. They wanted to force us, like slaves, to follow their Jewish regulations.

There is treasure in the house of the godly, but the earnings of the wicked bring trouble.

These people are false apostles. They have fooled you by disguising themselves as apostles of Christ.
But I am not surprised! Even Satan can disguise himself as an angel of light.
So it is no wonder his servants can also do it by pretending to be godly ministers. In the end they will get every bit of punishment their wicked deeds deserve.

But now let my lord the king listen to his servant. If the LORD has stirred you up against me, then let him accept my offering. But if this is simply a human scheme, then may those involved be cursed by the LORD. For you have driven me from my home, so I can no longer live among the LORD's people and worship as I should.

Those who are gentle and lowly will possess the land; they will live in prosperous security.

But Elymas, the sorcerer (as his name means in Greek), interfered and urged the governor to pay no attention to what Saul and Barnabas said. He was trying to turn the governor away from the Christian faith.
Then Saul, also known as Paul, filled with the Holy Spirit, looked the sorcerer in the eye and said,
"You son of the Devil, full of every sort of trickery and villainy, enemy of all that is good, will you never stop perverting the true ways of the Lord?

"Why have you let all the women live?" he demanded.
"These are the very ones who followed Balaam's advice and caused the people of Israel to rebel against the LORD at Mount Peor. They are the ones who caused the plague to strike the LORD's people.

The nations have fallen into the pit they dug for others. They have been caught in their own trap.

They brag about themselves with empty, foolish boasting. With lustful desire as their bait, they lure back into sin those who have just escaped from such wicked living.
They promise freedom, but they themselves are slaves to sin and corruption. For you are a slave to whatever controls you.
And when people escape from the wicked ways of the world by learning about our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and then get tangled up with sin and become its slave again, they are worse off than before.

Let God's curse fall on anyone, including myself, who preaches any other message than the one we told you about. Even if an angel comes from heaven and preaches any other message, let him be forever cursed.
I will say it again: If anyone preaches any other gospel than the one you welcomed, let God's curse fall upon that person.

"If you listen to these regulations and obey them faithfully, the LORD your God will keep his covenant of unfailing love with you, as he solemnly promised your ancestors.
He will love you and bless you and make you into a great nation. He will give you many children and give fertility to your land and your animals. When you arrive in the land he swore to give your ancestors, you will have large crops of grain, grapes, and olives, and great herds of cattle, sheep, and goats.
You will be blessed above all the nations of the earth. None of your men or women will be childless, and all your livestock will bear young.

Oh, foolish Galatians! What magician has cast an evil spell on you? For you used to see the meaning of Jesus Christ's death as clearly as though I had shown you a signboard with a picture of Christ dying on the cross.
Let me ask you this one question: Did you receive the Holy Spirit by keeping the law? Of course not, for the Holy Spirit came upon you only after you believed the message you heard about Christ.
Have you lost your senses? After starting your Christian lives in the Spirit, why are you now trying to become perfect by your own human effort?
You have suffered so much for the Good News. Surely it was not in vain, was it? Are you now going to just throw it all away?

They dig a pit to trap others and then fall into it themselves.
They make trouble, but it backfires on them. They plan violence for others, but it falls on their own heads.

But I fear that somehow you will be led away from your pure and simple devotion to Christ, just as Eve was deceived by the serpent.
You seem to believe whatever anyone tells you, even if they preach about a different Jesus than the one we preach, or a different Spirit than the one you received, or a different kind of gospel than the one you believed.

And yet I have a few complaints against you. You tolerate some among you who are like Balaam, who showed Balak how to trip up the people of Israel. He taught them to worship idols by eating food offered to idols and by committing sexual sin.

When you dig a well, you may fall in. When you demolish an old wall, you could be bitten by a snake.

The LORD will not let the godly starve to death, but he refuses to satisfy the craving of the wicked.

And now I make one more appeal, my dear brothers and sisters. Watch out for people who cause divisions and upset people's faith by teaching things that are contrary to what you have been taught. Stay away from them.
Such people are not serving Christ our Lord; they are serving their own personal interests. By smooth talk and glowing words they deceive innocent people.
