6: Wounds from a friend are better than many kisses from an enemy.

Let the godly strike me! It will be a kindness! If they reprove me, it is soothing medicine. Don't let me refuse it. But I am in constant prayer against the wicked and their deeds.

I am the one who corrects and disciplines everyone I love. Be diligent and turn from your indifference.

Smooth words may hide a wicked heart, just as a pretty glaze covers a common clay pot.
People with hate in their hearts may sound pleasant enough, but don't believe them.
Though they pretend to be kind, their hearts are full of all kinds of evil.
While their hatred may be concealed by trickery, it will finally come to light for all to see.

"But consider the joy of those corrected by God! Do not despise the chastening of the Almighty when you sin.
For though he wounds, he also bandages. He strikes, but his hands also heal.

For our earthly fathers disciplined us for a few years, doing the best they knew how. But God's discipline is always right and good for us because it means we will share in his holiness.

Judas had given them a prearranged signal: "You will know which one to arrest when I go over and give him the kiss of greeting."
So Judas came straight to Jesus. "Greetings, Teacher!" he exclaimed and gave him the kiss.
Jesus said, "My friend, go ahead and do what you have come for." Then the others grabbed Jesus and arrested him.
