28: The slayer should have stayed inside the city of refuge until the death of the high priest. But after the death of the high priest, the slayer may return to his own property.

Hebrews 6:4

  1. For it is impossible to restore to repentance those who were once enlightened--those who have experienced the good things of heaven and shared in the Holy Spirit,
  2. who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the power of the age to come--
  3. and who then turn away from God. It is impossible to bring such people to repentance again because they are nailing the Son of God to the cross again by rejecting him, holding him up to public shame.
  4. When the ground soaks up the rain that falls on it and bears a good crop for the farmer, it has the blessing of God.
  5. But if a field bears thistles and thorns, it is useless. The farmer will condemn that field and burn it.

Hebrews 10:26

  1. Dear friends, if we deliberately continue sinning after we have received a full knowledge of the truth, there is no other sacrifice that will cover these sins.
  2. There will be nothing to look forward to but the terrible expectation of God's judgment and the raging fire that will consume his enemies.
  3. Anyone who refused to obey the law of Moses was put to death without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses.
  4. Think how much more terrible the punishment will be for those who have trampled on the Son of God and have treated the blood of the covenant as if it were common and unholy. Such people have insulted and enraged the Holy Spirit who brings God's mercy to his people.
  5. For we know the one who said, "I will take vengeance. I will repay those who deserve it." He also said, "The Lord will judge his own people."

John 15:4

  1. Remain in me, and I will remain in you. For a branch cannot produce fruit if it is severed from the vine, and you cannot be fruitful apart from me.
  2. "Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing.
  3. Anyone who parts from me is thrown away like a useless branch and withers. Such branches are gathered into a pile to be burned.

  2. Now when someone dies and leaves a will, no one gets anything until it is proved that the person who wrote the will is dead.
  3. The will goes into effect only after the death of the person who wrote it. While the person is still alive, no one can use the will to get any of the things promised to them.
