2: "Send men to explore the land of Canaan, the land I am giving to Israel. Send one leader from each of the twelve ancestral tribes."

Deuteronomy 1:22

  1. "But you responded, `First, let's send out scouts to explore the land for us. They will advise us on the best route to take and decide which towns we should capture.'
  2. This seemed like a good idea to me, so I chose twelve scouts, one from each of your tribes.

  5. They left the city at dusk, as the city gates were about to close, and I don't know where they went. If you hurry, you can probably catch up with them."
