Matthew 11:1

1: When Jesus had finished giving these instructions to his twelve disciples, he went off teaching and preaching in towns throughout the country.

Even while we were with you, we gave you this rule: "Whoever does not work should not eat."

And no doubt you know that God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power. Then Jesus went around doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the Devil, for God was with him.

The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is upon me, because the LORD has appointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to comfort the brokenhearted and to announce that captives will be released and prisoners will be freed.
He has sent me to tell those who mourn that the time of the LORD's favor has come, and with it, the day of God's anger against their enemies.
To all who mourn in Israel, he will give beauty for ashes, joy instead of mourning, praise instead of despair. For the LORD has planted them like strong and graceful oaks for his own glory.

When you obey me, you remain in my love, just as I obey my Father and remain in his love.

And now, dear brothers and sisters, we give you this command with the authority of our Lord Jesus Christ: Stay away from any Christian who lives in idleness and doesn't follow the tradition of hard work we gave you.

Jesus traveled throughout Galilee teaching in the synagogues, preaching everywhere the Good News about the Kingdom. And he healed people who had every kind of sickness and disease.

And he ordered us to preach everywhere and to testify that Jesus is ordained of God to be the judge of all--the living and the dead.

until the day he ascended to heaven after giving his chosen apostles further instructions from the Holy Spirit.

But he replied, "We must go on to other towns as well, and I will preach to them, too, because that is why I came."
So he traveled throughout the region of Galilee, preaching in the synagogues and expelling demons from many people.

Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age."

He taught in their synagogues and was praised by everyone.
When he came to the village of Nazareth, his boyhood home, he went as usual to the synagogue on the Sabbath and stood up to read the Scriptures.
The scroll containing the messages of Isaiah the prophet was handed to him, and he unrolled the scroll to the place where it says:
"The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, for he has appointed me to preach Good News to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim that captives will be released, that the blind will see, that the downtrodden will be freed from their oppressors,
and that the time of the Lord's favor has come. "

Not long afterward Jesus began a tour of the nearby cities and villages to announce the Good News concerning the Kingdom of God. He took his twelve disciples with him,

Jesus traveled through all the cities and villages of that area, teaching in the synagogues and announcing the Good News about the Kingdom. And wherever he went, he healed people of every sort of disease and illness.

that you obey his commands with all purity. Then no one can find fault with you from now until our Lord Jesus Christ returns.
