Mark 9:4

4: Then Elijah and Moses appeared and began talking with Jesus.

For he must remain in heaven until the time for the final restoration of all things, as God promised long ago through his prophets.
Moses said, 'The Lord your God will raise up a Prophet like me from among your own people. Listen carefully to everything he tells you.'
Then Moses said, 'Anyone who will not listen to that Prophet will be cut off from God's people and utterly destroyed.'
"Starting with Samuel, every prophet spoke about what is happening today.

Suddenly, Moses and Elijah appeared and began talking with Jesus.
Peter blurted out, "Lord, this is wonderful! If you want me to, I'll make three shrines, one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah."

Then two men, Moses and Elijah, appeared and began talking with Jesus.
They were glorious to see. And they were speaking of how he was about to fulfill God's plan by dying in Jerusalem.

This salvation was something the prophets wanted to know more about. They prophesied about this gracious salvation prepared for you, even though they had many questions as to what it all could mean.
They wondered what the Spirit of Christ within them was talking about when he told them in advance about Christ's suffering and his great glory afterward. They wondered when and to whom all this would happen.
They were told that these things would not happen during their lifetime, but many years later, during yours. And now this Good News has been announced by those who preached to you in the power of the Holy Spirit sent from heaven. It is all so wonderful that even the angels are eagerly watching these things happen.

Then Jesus quoted passages from the writings of Moses and all the prophets, explaining what all the Scriptures said about himself.

Then I fell down at his feet to worship him, but he said, "No, don't worship me. For I am a servant of God, just like you and other brothers and sisters who testify of their faith in Jesus. Worship God. For the essence of prophecy is to give a clear witness for Jesus. "

"Yet it is not I who will accuse you of this before the Father. Moses will accuse you! Yes, Moses, on whom you set your hopes.
But if you had believed Moses, you would have believed me because he wrote about me.
And since you don't believe what he wrote, how will you believe what I say?"

As they were walking along and talking, suddenly a chariot of fire appeared, drawn by horses of fire. It drove between them, separating them, and Elijah was carried by a whirlwind into heaven.
Elisha saw it and cried out, "My father! My father! The chariots and charioteers of Israel!" And as they disappeared from sight, Elisha tore his robe in two.

Then he said, "When I was with you before, I told you that everything written about me by Moses and the prophets and in the Psalms must all come true."

So Moses, the servant of the LORD, died there in the land of Moab, just as the LORD had said.
He was buried in a valley near Beth-peor in Moab, but to this day no one knows the exact place.

For before John came, all the teachings of the Scriptures looked forward to this present time.

"Well," they replied, "some say John the Baptist, some say Elijah, and others say you are one of the other ancient prophets risen from the dead."

"You search the Scriptures because you believe they give you eternal life. But the Scriptures point to me!
