Mark 4:1

1: Once again Jesus began teaching by the lakeshore. There was such a large crowd along the shore that he got into a boat and sat down and spoke from there.

Mark 2:13

  1. Then Jesus went out to the lakeshore again and taught the crowds that gathered around him.

Luke 5:1

  1. One day as Jesus was preaching on the shore of the Sea of Galilee, great crowds pressed in on him to listen to the word of God.
  2. He noticed two empty boats at the water's edge, for the fishermen had left them and were washing their nets.
  3. Stepping into one of the boats, Jesus asked Simon, its owner, to push it out into the water. So he sat in the boat and taught the crowds from there.

Luke 8:4

  1. One day Jesus told this story to a large crowd that had gathered from many towns to hear him:
  2. "A farmer went out to plant some seed. As he scattered it across his field, some seed fell on a footpath, where it was stepped on, and the birds came and ate it.
  3. Other seed fell on shallow soil with underlying rock. This seed began to grow, but soon it withered and died for lack of moisture.
  4. Other seed fell among thorns that shot up and choked out the tender blades.
  5. Still other seed fell on fertile soil. This seed grew and produced a crop one hundred times as much as had been planted." When he had said this, he called out, "Anyone who is willing to hear should listen and understand!"

Matthew 13:1

  1. Later that same day, Jesus left the house and went down to the shore,
  2. where an immense crowd soon gathered. He got into a boat, where he sat and taught as the people listened on the shore.
  3. He told many stories such as this one: "A farmer went out to plant some seed.
