Mark 11:1
1: As Jesus and his disciples approached Jerusalem, they came to the towns of Bethphage and Bethany, on the Mount of Olives. Jesus sent two of them on ahead.
John 12:14
- Jesus found a young donkey and sat on it, fulfilling the prophecy that said:
- "Don't be afraid, people of Israel. Look, your King is coming, sitting on a donkey's colt."
- His disciples didn't realize at the time that this was a fulfillment of prophecy. But after Jesus entered into his glory, they remembered that these Scriptures had come true before their eyes.
- Those in the crowd who had seen Jesus call Lazarus back to life were telling others all about it.
- That was the main reason so many went out to meet him--because they had heard about this mighty miracle.
John 8:1
- Jesus returned to the Mount of Olives,
Matthew 21:1
- As Jesus and the disciples approached Jerusalem, they came to the town of Bethphage on the Mount of Olives. Jesus sent two of them on ahead.
- "Go into the village over there," he said, "and you will see a donkey tied there, with its colt beside it. Untie them and bring them here.
- If anyone asks what you are doing, just say, 'The Lord needs them,' and he will immediately send them."
- This was done to fulfill the prophecy,
- "Tell the people of Israel, 'Look, your King is coming to you. He is humble, riding on a donkey--even on a donkey's colt.'"
Luke 19:29
- As they came to the towns of Bethphage and Bethany, on the Mount of Olives, he sent two disciples ahead.
- "Go into that village over there," he told them, "and as you enter it, you will see a colt tied there that has never been ridden. Untie it and bring it here.
- If anyone asks what you are doing, just say, 'The Lord needs it.'"
- So they went and found the colt, just as Jesus had said.
- And sure enough, as they were untying it, the owners asked them, "Why are you untying our colt?"
Matthew 26:30
- Then they sang a hymn and went out to the Mount of Olives.
Matthew 24:3
- Later, Jesus sat on the slopes of the Mount of Olives. His disciples came to him privately and asked, "When will all this take place? And will there be any sign ahead of time to signal your return and the end of the world?"
Zechariah 14:4
- On that day his feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, which faces Jerusalem on the east. And the Mount of Olives will split apart, making a wide valley running from east to west, for half the mountain will move toward the north and half toward the south.
