Luke 5:11

11: And as soon as they landed, they left everything and followed Jesus.

Then Peter said to him, "We've given up everything to follow you. What will we get out of it?"

And they left their nets at once and went with him.
A little farther up the shore Jesus saw Zebedee's sons, James and John, in a boat mending their nets.
He called them, too, and immediately they left their father, Zebedee, in the boat with the hired men and went with him.
Jesus and his companions went to the town of Capernaum, and every Sabbath day he went into the synagogue and taught the people.
They were amazed at his teaching, for he taught as one who had real authority--quite unlike the teachers of religious law.

If you love your father or mother more than you love me, you are not worthy of being mine; or if you love your son or daughter more than me, you are not worthy of being mine.

Jesus felt genuine love for this man as he looked at him. "You lack only one thing," he told him. "Go and sell all you have and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me."

Peter said, "We have left our homes and followed you."
"Yes," Jesus replied, "and I assure you, everyone who has given up house or wife or brothers or parents or children, for the sake of the Kingdom of God,
will be repaid many times over in this life, as well as receiving eternal life in the world to come."

I once thought all these things were so very important, but now I consider them worthless because of what Christ has done.
Yes, everything else is worthless when compared with the priceless gain of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. I have discarded everything else, counting it all as garbage, so that I may have Christ

And Jesus replied, "I assure you that everyone who has given up house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or property, for my sake and for the Good News,
will receive now in return, a hundred times over, houses, brothers, sisters, mothers, children, and property--with persecutions. And in the world to come they will have eternal life.
