10: Then he added, "Nations and kingdoms will proclaim war against each other.

And I will cause wonders in the heavens above and signs on the earth below--blood and fire and clouds of smoke.
The sun will be turned into darkness, and the moon will turn bloodred, before that great and glorious day of the Lord arrives.

Nations and kingdoms will proclaim war against each other, and there will be earthquakes in many parts of the world, and famines. But all this will be only the beginning of the horrors to come.

This means that the things on earth will be shaken, so that only eternal things will be left.

On that day they will be terrified, stricken by the LORD with great panic. They will fight against each other in hand-to-hand combat;

During those dark times, it was not safe to travel. Problems troubled the nation on every hand.
Nation fought against nation, and city against city, for God was troubling you with every kind of problem.

On that day I will gather all the nations to fight against Jerusalem. The city will be taken, the houses plundered, and the women raped. Half the population will be taken away into captivity, and half will be left among the ruins of the city.
Then the LORD will go out to fight against those nations, as he has fought in times past.

I looked up and saw a white horse. Its rider carried a bow, and a crown was placed on his head. He rode out to win many battles and gain the victory.
When the Lamb broke the second seal, I heard the second living being say, "Come!"
And another horse appeared, a red one. Its rider was given a mighty sword and the authority to remove peace from the earth. And there was war and slaughter everywhere.
When the Lamb broke the third seal, I heard the third living being say, "Come!" And I looked up and saw a black horse, and its rider was holding a pair of scales in his hand.
And a voice from among the four living beings said, "A loaf of wheat bread or three loaves of barley for a day's pay. And don't waste the olive oil and wine."

One of them named Agabus stood up in one of the meetings to predict by the Spirit that a great famine was coming upon the entire Roman world. (This was fulfilled during the reign of Claudius.)

"Tell Zerubbabel, the governor of Judah, that I am about to shake the heavens and the earth.
I will overthrow royal thrones, destroying the power of foreign kingdoms. I will overturn their chariots and charioteers. The horses will fall, and their riders will kill each other.
