13: "What horrors await you, Korazin and Bethsaida! For if the miracles I did in you had been done in wicked Tyre and Sidon, their people would have sat in deep repentance long ago, clothed in sackcloth and throwing ashes on their heads to show their remorse.

Isaiah 23:1

Joel 3:4

  5. The island of Tyre will become uninhabited. It will be a place for fishermen to spread their nets, for I have spoken, says the Sovereign LORD. Tyre will become the prey of many nations,

Romans 11:8

  1. As the Scriptures say, "God has put them into a deep sleep. To this very day he has shut their eyes so they do not see, and closed their ears so they do not hear."
  2. David spoke of this same thing when he said, "Let their bountiful table become a snare, a trap that makes them think all is well. Let their blessings cause them to stumble.
  3. Let their eyes go blind so they cannot see, and let their backs grow weaker and weaker."
  4. Did God's people stumble and fall beyond recovery? Of course not! His purpose was to make his salvation available to the Gentiles, and then the Jews would be jealous and want it for themselves.

John 3:5

  1. Jesus replied, "The truth is, no one can enter the Kingdom of God without being born of water and the Spirit.
  2. Humans can reproduce only human life, but the Holy Spirit gives new life from heaven.

Luke 9:10

  1. When the apostles returned, they told Jesus everything they had done. Then he slipped quietly away with them toward the town of Bethsaida.
  2. But the crowds found out where he was going, and they followed him. And he welcomed them, teaching them about the Kingdom of God and curing those who were ill.
  3. Late in the afternoon the twelve disciples came to him and said, "Send the crowds away to the nearby villages and farms, so they can find food and lodging for the night. There is nothing to eat here in this deserted place."
  4. But Jesus said, "You feed them.Impossible!" they protested. "We have only five loaves of bread and two fish. Or are you expecting us to go and buy enough food for this whole crowd?"
  5. For there were about five thousand men there. "Just tell them to sit down on the ground in groups of about fifty each," Jesus replied.

1 Timothy 4:2

  1. These teachers are hypocrites and liars. They pretend to be religious, but their consciences are dead.

Romans 9:29

  1. And Isaiah said in another place, "If the Lord Almighty had not spared a few of us, we would have been wiped out as completely as Sodom and Gomorrah."
  2. Well then, what shall we say about these things? Just this: The Gentiles have been made right with God by faith, even though they were not seeking him.
