20: "If a man has sexual intercourse with a slave girl who is committed to become someone else's wife, compensation must be paid. But since she had not been freed at the time, the couple will not be put to death.

Deuteronomy 22:23

  1. "Suppose a man meets a young woman, a virgin who is engaged to be married, and he has sexual intercourse with her. If this happens within a town,
  2. you must take both of them to the gates of the town and stone them to death. The woman is guilty because she did not scream for help. The man must die because he violated another man's wife. In this way, you will cleanse the land of evil.

Exodus 21:20

  1. "If a male or female slave is beaten and dies, the owner must be punished.
  2. If the slave recovers after a couple of days, however, then the owner should not be punished, since the slave is the owner's property.
