Joshua 17:1
1: The next allotment of land was given to the half-tribe of Manasseh, the descendants of Joseph's older son. Gilead and Bashan on the east side of the Jordan had already been given to the family of Makir because he was a great warrior. (Makir was Manasseh's oldest son and was the father of Gilead.)
Genesis 41:51
- Joseph named his older son Manasseh, for he said, "God has made me forget all my troubles and the family of my father."
