John 2:1

1: The next day Jesus' mother was a guest at a wedding celebration in the village of Cana in Galilee.

In the course of his journey through Galilee, he arrived at the town of Cana, where he had turned the water into wine. There was a government official in the city of Capernaum whose son was very sick.

Who can find a virtuous and capable wife? She is worth more than precious rubies.
Her husband can trust her, and she will greatly enrich his life.
She will not hinder him but help him all her life.

And we are his body.
As the Scriptures say, "A man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one."
This is a great mystery, but it is an illustration of the way Christ and the church are one.
So again I say, each man must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.

How happy are those who fear the LORD--all who follow his ways!
You will enjoy the fruit of your labor. How happy you will be! How rich your life!
Your wife will be like a fruitful vine, flourishing within your home. And look at all those children! There they sit around your table as vigorous and healthy as young olive trees.
That is the LORD's reward for those who fear him.

Several of the disciples were there--Simon Peter, Thomas (nicknamed the Twin ), Nathanael from Cana in Galilee, the sons of Zebedee, and two other disciples.

As Jesus was speaking to the crowd, his mother and brothers were outside, wanting to talk with him.

Give honor to marriage, and remain faithful to one another in marriage. God will surely judge people who are immoral and those who commit adultery.

And the LORD God said, "It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a companion who will help him."
So the LORD God formed from the soil every kind of animal and bird. He brought them to Adam to see what he would call them, and Adam chose a name for each one.
He gave names to all the livestock, birds, and wild animals. But still there was no companion suitable for him.
So the LORD God caused Adam to fall into a deep sleep. He took one of Adam's ribs and closed up the place from which he had taken it.
Then the LORD God made a woman from the rib and brought her to Adam.

So God created people in his own image; God patterned them after himself; male and female he created them.
God blessed them and told them, "Multiply and fill the earth and subdue it. Be masters over the fish and birds and all the animals."

Parents can provide their sons with an inheritance of houses and wealth, but only the LORD can give an understanding wife.

The next day Jesus decided to go to Galilee. He found Philip and said to him, "Come, be my disciple."

Now the Holy Spirit tells us clearly that in the last times some will turn away from what we believe; they will follow lying spirits and teachings that come from demons.
These teachers are hypocrites and liars. They pretend to be religious, but their consciences are dead.
They will say it is wrong to be married and wrong to eat certain foods. But God created those foods to be eaten with thanksgiving by people who know and believe the truth.

The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, "Look! There is the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!
