2: The soldiers made a crown of long, sharp thorns and put it on his head, and they put a royal purple robe on him.

Princes will bow low because the LORD has chosen you. He, the faithful LORD, the Holy One of Israel, chooses you."

Then Jesus came out wearing the crown of thorns and the purple robe. And Pilate said, "Here is the man!"

Now Herod and his soldiers began mocking and ridiculing Jesus. Then they put a royal robe on him and sent him back to Pilate.
