3: The leading priests and Pharisees had given Judas a battalion of Roman soldiers and Temple guards to accompany him. Now with blazing torches, lanterns, and weapons, they arrived at the olive grove.
John 18:12
- So the soldiers, their commanding officer, and the Temple guards arrested Jesus and tied him up.
Luke 22:47
- But even as he said this, a mob approached, led by Judas, one of his twelve disciples. Judas walked over to Jesus and greeted him with a kiss.
- But Jesus said, "Judas, how can you betray me, the Son of Man, with a kiss?"
