14: Jesus found a young donkey and sat on it, fulfilling the prophecy that said:
Zechariah 9:9
- Rejoice greatly, O people of Zion! Shout in triumph, O people of Jerusalem! Look, your king is coming to you. He is righteous and victorious, yet he is humble, riding on a donkey--even on a donkey's colt.
Mark 11:1
- As Jesus and his disciples approached Jerusalem, they came to the towns of Bethphage and Bethany, on the Mount of Olives. Jesus sent two of them on ahead.
- "Go into that village over there," he told them, "and as soon as you enter it, you will see a colt tied there that has never been ridden. Untie it and bring it here.
- If anyone asks what you are doing, just say, 'The Lord needs it and will return it soon.'"
- The two disciples left and found the colt standing in the street, tied outside a house.
- As they were untying it, some bystanders demanded, "What are you doing, untying that colt?"
Luke 19:29
- As they came to the towns of Bethphage and Bethany, on the Mount of Olives, he sent two disciples ahead.

- And sure enough, as they were untying it, the owners asked them, "Why are you untying our colt?"

- "Tell the people of Israel, 'Look, your King is coming to you. He is humble, riding on a donkey--even on a donkey's colt.'"
